About the set
Hot on the heels of the sold-out Obliterator release, Doctor Who Battles in Time has been selling so fast we can barely keep up. This new release — Dalek Invasion — turns the spotlight on the Doctor's greatest foes. This all-new set features almost every Dalek that has appeared onscreen alongside their greatest adversaries, including the Doctors that fought them.
Incredibly, there have been more than 80 different Daleks, and they are all here — from the Skaro city Daleks that confronted the First Doctor to the latest advanced Dalek scouts. The set has been exhaustively researched with the help of leading Dalek expert Gavin Rymill, making this one of the most complete Dalek collections ever made. A quick history — how Battles in Time started
For anyone new: Battles in Time launched on 20 September 2006 — a fortnightly partwork magazine with a trading-card game inside it, from partwork publisher GE Fabbri. It became, briefly and spectacularly, one of the most-collected Doctor Who ranges of the modern era: every fortnight for the best part of three years, kids and adult collectors alike were pulling new cards, trading in playgrounds, offices and comic shops. The magazine ran to 70 issues before wrapping in May 2009.
The BBC subsequently ran their own version of the range in the years after — keeping the game alive with a different publishing shape. But the classic Fabbri run is the one that defined Battles in Time for most collectors, and it's the one that most people mean when they say the name.
It never left the collectors' consciousness, though. Which brings us to us.
The secondary market — cards still trading on eBay
Here is a thing that quietly says everything about how loved this range is. Twenty years after the original cards launched, original Battles in Time cards are still trading on eBay — sealed booster packs at real prices, rare card variants going for meaningful sums, complete or near-complete sets turning up and moving fast.
A snapshot of the market as it stands right now:
- Top of the market: a Super Rose Golden Ticket Card from 2006 — the notorious "golden ticket" pull, one in every 1,000 packs across the first five sets — currently listed on eBay UK at £695.00 or best offer. It's a Majesty Grading Company 9 Gem Mint Pop 1 (only one of its kind graded that high in the world), a rare matte gold test-back variant from the earliest test-region release. Ungraded Super Roses regularly appear from around £95 upwards.
- Mid-market — the complete collection: a bundle of hundreds of original 2006 cards including a Super Rare, plus the original folder (empty), listed at £173.77 or best offer. People are collecting the ecosystem, not just the cards — the folders, the sleeves, the partwork.
- And — quietly telling — from our own current 2026 run: a misprint card from the Obliterator Limited Edition (card 034, near-mint, listed in the last few days) has appeared on eBay UK at £247.55 or best offer. This is the trading-card ecosystem doing what the trading-card ecosystem does — misprints and error cards from any respected line become chase objects the moment they hit the wider community. Seeing this inside months of our current release is a real signal about how the range is being treated.
- Current sales record: sold on eBay in the last week — and what we believe to be a Battles in Time record sale — a The Moment Vortex card changed hands for £640 (roughly $800+). Twenty years in, and cards from this range are still setting records.
Our new sets and the classic range don't compete — different runs, different finishes, different collector propositions. What the eBay activity tells us is that this is a range with a proper legacy, and one the community is genuinely delighted to see back on the shelves.
What we've built so far — the 2026 relaunch
For anyone catching up on where the relaunched range stands today, here is the roster:
- Retroduction (May) — the introductory set. Sold out first time; a second shipment landed in June.
- Obliterator (May → July) — 142 cards from Ace to Zygons in premium finishes. Launched as a Limited Edition in May, followed by the more accessible 5-Pack Limited and the Unlimited Edition + Collector Binder through July.
- First Doctor Limited Edition Set (June) — 1,000 sets worldwide, silver foil, in classic black and white.
- Second Doctor Collector's Set (September) — Patrick Troughton's era, 1,000 sets, foil finish, with the Vortex Metal Card bonus.

Why the Daleks land differently
It matters that this is Daleks specifically. They were designed by Ray Cusick, written into the show by Terry Nation, and voiced from day one by Peter Hawkins and David Graham. They became a cultural phenomenon within weeks of their first appearance in December 1963. "Dalekmania" in 1964–65 saw stickers, toys, comics, breakfast cereals and two feature films with Peter Cushing. Sixty-plus years later they remain, for a lot of the community, the reason Doctor Who matters.
And what's next — anchoring around Doctor Who Day
This launch sits at the front of a big autumn for the range. Doctor Who Day (Sunday 23 November) is the anniversary of the first ever episode, and it's the moment we've been building towards. Expect more from us across that weekend and into December — the Daleks' own December birthday window. More detail closer to the day.
STAR TREK AT 60 — A LOOK BACK
Star Trek Day fell on 8th September — the 60th anniversary of the show's original US broadcast. A quiet retrospective on the week that was.
By the time this newsletter lands, Star Trek has passed one of the few anniversary milestones you cannot fake — 60 years to the day since "The Man Trap" first aired on NBC on 8th September 1966. It has been an anniversary programmed carefully. The centre of gravity for the whole year has been StarTrek.com/60, where Paramount's yearlong celebration lives.
The Science Museum — Star Trek at 60
London's Science Museum has been running "Star Trek at 60" through the year — a free, self-guided Warp Trail placing screen-used costumes and props across the permanent galleries, drawing the connections between the show's ideas and real-world science and innovation. Highlights include Patrick Stewart's Captain Picard costume and Simon Pegg's Scotty jacket, threaded through the exhibits.
Paired with the Warp Trail: an IMAX film season at the museum's Ronson Theatre showing all 13 Star Trek films (some digitised for IMAX for the first time), plus a limited-edition Star Trek anniversary product range from the museum shop (a collectible coin, embroidered cap and patch, and homeware).
The Warp Trail runs through September — so if you're London-based, this is your final window. It's genuinely one of the best UK ways to mark the 60th.
Samsung KX — Star Trek takes over King's Cross
The bigger UK activation across Star Trek Day itself was in Samsung KX, Samsung's King's Cross flagship — transformed into "Star Trek central" on 7th–8th September as one of four London "quadrants" on a Samsung × Paramount+ fan trail (King's Cross St Pancras, St Pancras and South Kensington Tube stations got full takeovers too).
Inside Samsung KX: an immersive branded environment, screenings of the 1966 pilot "The Man Trap", and — the piece that had proper fans booking a train down — an advance preview of Strange New Worlds S4 E8 "Orders of Magnitude" ahead of its Paramount+ drop the following week. Part of a broader Samsung × Paramount+ UK campaign positioning Paramount+ as the Home of Star Trek.
This is the kind of tie-in that quietly refreshes the entry point for the next generation of collectors — a casual fan walks past a shop window, touches a piece of the franchise, and walks out remembering they love it. Which is where a good bit of our future community comes from.
What we launched in September for the 60th
On our own side, September has been a properly busy month for Star Trek product — six new releases, timed to the anniversary window:
Starship Library — Titan-A and Enterprise-G
The next entries in the Starship Library are the U.S.S. Titan-A (Starship Library 21) and the U.S.S. Enterprise-G (Starship Library 23). These two land together as a paired variant — same physical hull, different registration and dedication plaque — for the very good reason that they are, in fact, the same ship. As anyone who saw the closing moments of Star Trek: Picard Season 3 will know, the Titan-A was renamed the Enterprise-G at the very end of the finale. We're releasing both marks so the collector can decide which era of the ship they want on the shelf — or, if they're properly serious, put both up side by side.

Meanwhile the show itself has been giving us a properly satisfying anniversary year. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds's Season 4 finale — "Tomorrow's Enterprise" — lands on Thursday 24th September on Paramount+ — arguably the biggest Star Trek weekly moment of 2026, and just two days before this newsletter goes out. (See the Now Streaming section below for more.)
Two other Star Trek anniversaries fall this week and are worth flagging: Star Trek: Enterprise turns 25 on 26th September ("Broken Bow" US premiere, 2001) — the show that quietly proved the franchise had a future when a lot of people were writing it off. And Heroes turns 20 on 25th September (2006 NBC premiere) — not Star Trek, but a landmark sci-fi TV moment for a lot of us and worth a nod.

WHEN COLLECTIBLES MEET COOKWARE — THE FUN COLLAB MOMENT
A quiet look at why sci-fi × everyday-object collabs are having such a moment — and a round-up of the ones we're loving.
Something has been quietly happening in the collector world for the last couple of years. It didn't start with us and it isn't going away, and we think it's worth naming: the age of the fun collab. Le Creuset, cast-iron and enamel, meets Star Trek. Scrub Daddy — the sponge company — teams up with The Mandalorian. A limited-edition tea cup captures a moment from a favourite scene. On paper, none of these should exist. In practice, they sell out.
Why they work
Two things are happening at once. First, the sci-fi and fantasy audience has grown up. The people who loved these franchises as kids in the 1980s and '90s are now the people buying cookware, throwing dinner parties, and outfitting their own kitchens. They aren't looking for the same product they wanted at 12. They're looking for the same feeling — that quiet daily reminder that the thing they loved is real and part of their life — expressed in a form that fits who they are now.
Second, licensors have finally worked out that the everyday integration matters more than the flashy one. A limited-edition mug lives on your desk. A branded braiser lives on your hob. A tea cup lives in your cupboard, comes out three times a day, and every single time it does, you smile a little. That is a stronger relationship with a franchise than a poster on a wall.
The ones we're loving right now
- Le Creuset × Star Trek — launched in September for the 60th, and instantly the collab everyone's talking about. Ranges from around $35 to $500. Highlights: an Enterprise Dutch oven, a Klingon braiser, a Shuttlecraft baker, and — the piece that will actually break the internet — a Spock mug with Vulcan ears.
- Scrub Daddy × Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu — three-pack of dish sponges shaped as Grogu, the Mandalorian helmet, and Grogu in the hover pram. Officially licensed by Lucasfilm, around $14. Yes, you can wash the dishes with Baby Yoda. This is peak everyday-object collab and it works.
- Bialetti × Stranger Things Moka Express — the Italian stovetop espresso pot, but with a knob that plays the Stranger Things theme as your coffee brews (rechargeable via USB-C). Three-cup and six-cup versions, available in the UK via John Lewis. Absolutely the collab of the year for coffee-first sci-fi households.
- Le Creuset × Star Wars — the collab that arguably started this whole moment. Still going strong in the range, and worth revisiting if you missed it first time round.

None of these are what our range is built around. But they are — for us — evidence of a healthy franchise ecosystem. When you can buy a Klingon braiser, a Grogu sponge and a Stranger Things coffee pot without leaving one afternoon of internet shopping, the genre is in a very good place.
BLADE RUNNER 2099 — NYCC IS NEXT
The next big Blade Runner 2099 news moment lands at NYCC on 10th October. Prime Video premiere still 25 November.
The next major Blade Runner 2099 news beat is now confirmed for NY Comic Con on Saturday 10th October, 6:45pm at the Empire Stage. Michelle Yeoh (Olwen) and Hunter Schafer (Cora) are on the panel, with showrunner Silka Luisa. Expect a proper trailer, and — if the SDCC pattern holds — more of the world starting to leak out ahead of the 25th November premiere on Prime Video (all eight episodes at once, more than 240 countries).
For us: our own Blade Runner 2099-related product is still coming later this year. We can't be specific about what or when. But this is one worth being signed up to the newsletter and email alerts for.
HARRY POTTER IS COMING — CHRISTMAS DAY ON HBO
HBO's decade-long Harry Potter series launches Christmas Day. And Season 2's casting has just started to drop.
HBO's ambitious Harry Potter series — one book per season, seven seasons in total — has confirmed its launch: Christmas Day, 25 December 2026 on HBO Max. Dominic McLaughlin plays Harry, Arabella Stanton plays Hermione, Alastair Stout plays Ron. Grown-up casting has been landing all summer: John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, Paapa Essiedu as Snape.
This month brought the first Season 2 casting, and it's a strong slate: Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart (as inspired a bit of casting as you could ask for), Lenny Rush as Dobby, Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley and Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle.
We can't tease anything on the Master Replicas side at this stage. But — watch this space. This is a franchise moment we're taking seriously.

Franchise days to know
Doctor Who Day — Sunday 23rd November. The 63rd anniversary of the show's first broadcast. Ridley Scott back in the Alien cockpit. Scott (88) has confirmed he's personally rewriting the next Alien film — a third prequel centred on David (Michael Fassbender). Called Alien: Romulus "OK" and said the franchise "needs some help". Reactivated.
Alpha Gang premiered at Telluride. Cate Blanchett as "Alpha One", head of humanoid aliens posing as a 1950s biker gang. Zellner Brothers directing (Sasquatch Sunset); cast includes Chris Pine, Dave Bautista, Léa Seydoux. TIFF next.
Netflix greenlights Ravenloft — a live-action Dungeons & Dragons series on vampire Darklord Strahd von Zarovich, after Forgotten Realms was shelved. John August writing; Alfonso Cuarón EP.
Game of Thrones: The Mad King — the stage play on the Great Tourney at Harrenhal and Robert's Rebellion. George R.R. Martin-developed, Duncan Macmillan writing, Dominic Cooke directing. Sold-out RSC run transfers to the West End in 2027.
New Matrix film — Drew Goddard writing and directing; Lana Wachowski executive-producer only. Still in writing stage. Warner Bros slotted "Beyond 2027" — earliest realistic release 2028.

Summer 2026 broke every box-office record on the books. Autumn takes over now.
Summer 2026 — the record-breaker
The dust has settled on the summer, and the numbers are absurd. Total US summer box office hit $4.76 billion — an all-time record. Spider-Man: Brand New Day broke Avengers: Endgame's opening weekend record with $357.1m+ and hit $900m domestic in 36 days — the fastest ever (previous record: The Force Awakens at 50 days). The Odyssey (Nolan) closed at $1.104 billion worldwide — Nolan's biggest ever. Together they delivered the biggest cinema weekend in history at $435m. If you had "box office is back" on your 2026 bingo card, take a bow.
Godzilla Minus Zero New trailer is excellent
Toho and GKIDS dropped the full IMAX trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero on 8th September. It confirms Godzilla survived the events of Godzilla Minus One, teases King Ghidorah audio cues, and introduces Masami Nagasawa as weather forecaster Makoto Aoyama. It is the first Japanese Godzilla production ever shot in IMAX. World premiere at the NY Film Festival on 26th September (the day of this newsletter's send), Japan on 3rd November, US wide on 6th November.

December's biggest weekend Booking is open
Cinema booking has now opened for the year's most-anticipated head-to-head: Dune Part Three and Avengers: Doomsday, both landing on Friday 18th December. If you are the sort of person who wants a specific seat for a specific screening, book early — this is going to be the biggest cinema weekend of the year.
The Batman Part II Camera is rolling
Matt Reeves' sequel is now officially in production — principal photography began on 12th June, and Reeves has been quietly seeding set images from a snow-covered Gotham. Returning cast: Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell. Joining: Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance — and Barry Keoghan expected back as Joker. Pattinson has called the script "a really radical retelling". Release is now 18th February 2028.
NOW STREAMING - TWO BIG FINALES, AND WHAT'S NEXT

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 Finale
At time of writing, we are two days away from the Strange New Worlds Season 4 finale — "Tomorrow's Enterprise" — and quietly counting the hours. It lands on Thursday 24 September on Paramount+, and by the time you're reading this it will be behind us. No spoilers here for anyone who hasn't caught it yet — but come find us on socials to talk about it after.
And the bigger news around it: Paramount has confirmed Season 5 is the show's final season, with a shortened six-episode run. This is our last long look at Pike's Enterprise — so however this finale lands, it's the beginning of the goodbye.
Silo Season 3 is done - Season 4 Coming
The Silo Season 3 finale aired on Thursday 4 September, and the credits carried the first teaser for Season 4 — confirmed as the final season. Apple TV has set a premiere date of 9th July 2027. Long wait, but the Silo team have earned the runway.
Harry Potter - Christmas Day
As above — HBO's Harry Potter series premieres on Christmas Day, 25 December. It won't be here this month, but the trailer is out and worth catching if you have not already..

IN THE GAMES ROOM
Actually a properly busy autumn for game releases — and the biggest of them lands squarely in our wheelhouse.
Gears of War: E-Day 6th October 2026
The big one for our community. Gears of War: E-Day is a proper prequel to the original 2006 game — set 14 years before Gears 1, on Emergence Day itself: the day the Locust erupted from beneath Sera and everything changed. It follows a young Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago (with John DiMaggio and Carlos Ferro reprising their roles) in the city of Kalona alongside two new squadmates.
Genuinely new: a heavier survival-horror tone in the opening hours, new traversal mechanics (slide, crawl), heavy artillery layered onto the classic cover shooting, and four-player online co-op plus split-screen. Developed by The Coalition with People Can Fly. Available on Xbox Series X|S and PC / Steam — day-one on Game Pass, with up to five days early access for Premium Edition owners from 1st October.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 23rd October
The autumn Call of Duty tentpole. Infinity Ward leading, with the campaign picking up after Modern Warfare III's General Shepherd assassination: Price has gone rogue, Ghost and Gaz are hunting him, and Valeria Garza becomes an unlikely ally. Global setting jumps from a Korea flashpoint to New York, Paris and Mumbai. Mads Mikkelsen reportedly attached. On PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2.
EA Sports FC 27 Out Now
For completeness on the autumn calendar: EA Sports FC 27 has just landed (standard release 25 September). Not squarely in our sci-fi lane, but if you have a football-loving household it's the FC lineup you'd expect — Mbappe on the cover, Bellingham on Ultimate Plus, and the pitch this year is less automation, more manual control.
And Star Wars: Zero Company a month on
For anyone who picked up Star Wars: Zero Company on its 27 August launch, the community response has been strong — the XCOM-with-a-lightsaber pitch has landed exactly as billed, and Bit Reactor's Firaxis DNA is showing.
